If you give me file system, I give you everything else - achieving compatibility with other OSes

Well, one of a few large problems with my idea is that it proposes a radically different view of information, that is not really totally file based, but rather based on tags etc.. Well, would it even be possible to somehow make this compatible with other operating systems? If not, then my system is totally unviable - why would anybo0dy decide to shift to this type of operaitng system?
